Daniel E. Jolly, DDS, Receives Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award

PATASKALA, OH / ACCESSWIRE / January 13, 2025 / Daniel E. Jolly, DDS, has been announced as the recipient of the Marquis Who's Who Humanitarian Award.

Dr. Jolly receives recognition for his mastery and expertise as a dental consultant and educator with the Licking County Ohio Coroner's Office. Showcasing over four decades of outstanding labor in dentistry, Dr. Jolly has garnered an excellent reputation as the chief forensic dentist and odontologist at the Licking County, Ohio Coroner's Office. Starting in 2019, the dental expert's efforts in forensic dentistry consulting alongside medical and legal consultant services have propelled him in his field.

The expert witness additionally served the community outside of his primary career endeavors. Since 1992, Dr. Jolly has been the director of the Honduras Clinic Project and the chief forensic dentist and odontologist for the Franklin County Coroner's Office since 2000. His roles as director and chief represent just a small portion of his efforts in forensic dentistry. He also provides his expertise as a part-time dental director for an insurance company.

Before acquiring his current role, Dr. Jolly received a Bachelor of Arts in biology and chemistry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) in 1974. He began his career in 1977 as a hospital dentistry resident at the VA (Department of Veteran Affairs) Medical Center in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Dr. Jolly supplementally worked for a year in a Wyoming private practice near Newcastle in 1978. Returning to UMKC, his cultivated residency and private practice experience led the dental educator back to the campus as an assistant professor from 1979 through 1987. Later, in 1995 and 1998, the UMKC presented Dr. Jolly with the Alumni Achievement Award in Dentistry for his efforts.

As assistant professor, Dr. Jolly also served as the chief of restorative dentistry for the Truman Medical Center. From 1982 to 1987, he contributed his forensic and dental expertise as the director of dental oncology at the Trinity Lutheran Hospital. Dr. Jolly would soon go to Ohio State University (OSU) in 1987 as the associate professor and director of the general practice residency program. In 2000, the OSU dentistry school named a scholarship fund in his honor.

In 2008, Dr. Jolly became the president of ImmediaDent of Ohio and eventually joined Beech Croft Family Dental in 2017. During his ventures, he has offered many speaking engagements on forensic and medical dentistry. He specifically consulted for Lee's Summit Care Center and the Longview Nursing Center.

Throughout his career, Dr. Jolly sat on the board of directors for the Rinehart Foundation for the UMKC School of Dentistry and served as a secretary-turned-president of the Combined Hospital Dental Staff in Columbus, Ohio.

From 1984 to 1986, Dr. Jolly authored several written works for his field, including "Hospital Dental Hygiene," "Nursing Home Dentistry," and "Dental Oncology."
